USDCAD extends rally towards June high
Overview: USDCAD is extending its steady climb for a fifth consecutive session, trading near 1.4148, which is its highest since mid-July. The pair is now closing in on a full retracement of the summer pullback from June’s yearly high near 1.4247.
Momentum: The technical picture remains constructive, although overbought RSI and stochastic readings suggest the advance is becoming stretched and could be vulnerable to a period of consolidation.
Bullish scenario: If buyers remain in control, a break above the upper Bollinger band could bring the June high at 1.4247 into focus. Clearing this barrier could extend the advance towards the 123.6% Fibonacci extension at 1.4368, around the April 2025 highs.
Risk: A pullback below the nearest support at 1.4050 would signal that the latest bullish leg is losing momentum.
