How do you actually verify your broker's execution speed?

Everyone here checks spreads and commissions when picking a broker — but almost nobody measures the one thing that quietly kills fast strategies: execution latency.

For anything latency-sensitive (scalping, news, arbitrage), what matters isn't the advertised speed — it's how far your broker's quote actually lags a fast reference feed, how long the lag lasts, and when it appears. A broker that looks fine on spread can be 100–300ms behind during liquid hours, and that's where your fills quietly bleed.

My approach before funding any broker now: measure real, live latency first — size of the gaps, duration, timing — and choose on data instead of marketing. On gold especially, the differences between brokers are huge.

Curious how others here vet execution — do you measure it, or go by feel/demo? And which brokers have you found genuinely fast vs. suspiciously laggy?

I’ve started paying more attention to execution speed, especially when trading gold or during fast-moving markets.

With Amillex Global, my experience has been pretty smooth so far. I don’t really notice the kind of lag or freezing that can make a difference when the market moves quickly.

For me, that matters more than just looking at the advertised spreads, if the platform stays responsive when things get busy, that’s a big plus.
