Before depositing with a broker, what steps do you take to confirm its regulation? Do you check the regulator’s official website, licence number, company name, or registered address? Share your verification process.

I always check the broker’s licence number on the regulator’s official website. I also confirm that the company name, website domain, and registered address match the regulator’s records. If any details are missing or different, I contact the regulator or avoid depositing.

licence number is the starting point, but I’d also match the exact legal entity, domain and address against the regulator’s own register. Clone brokers can copy a regulated company’s name pretty convincingly, so a licence existing isn’t enough if the details don’t line up. I've encountered numerous websites that pretended to be my current broker HFM so I always check on their major sites what are the actual mirrors & links belonging to them
