I’m still kicking myself over this one. Gold smashed through the $5200 level and I completely missed the move. I was watching it, waiting for a pullback that never really came, and then boom — new record, no entry for me.

Curious to hear from others here. Did anyone jump in during the run-up or catch a clean breakout entry? If you did, how did you manage it — straight momentum trade, breakout confirmation, or pure gut feeling?

Would be interesting to know how you handled risk on such an extended move, or if you’re still holding some positions. Gold has been wild lately, and this move was a reminder that hesitation can be expensive in strong trends.

Looking forward to hearing some real trade stories — wins, mistakes, all of it.

You’re not alonethis move was very momentum-driven and didn’t offer many clean pullbacks. With gold in a strong trend and flows still favoring safety, chasing late entries is risky. Personally, I’d rather miss the move than force a trade here and wait for consolidation or a clear structure to form before getting involved again.

I don't think gut feelings will ever work in trading! Where historical data doesnot work, swing works imo.

Exactly. In strong gold trends, hesitation can be costly—but forcing late entries is worse. A safer approach is to wait for consolidation, then look for a breakout-retest or continuation setup on lower timeframes with smaller risk. That way, you stay disciplined and still catch the next leg instead of chasing the top.
