Opening a journal for one setup I watch: price moves through a prior price area, then reclaims back through it, before anything gets called. A called setup is P4 CONFIRMED - WAIT FOR P5. P4 IS NOT AN ENTRY. — confirmation is P5, the point the reclaim actually completes, never earlier. Every outcome gets posted here, including a BURNED - NO TRIGGER, NO TRADE result when P5 never forms, so this stays an honest record rather than a highlight reel. No entries, stops, or sizing — each trader runs their own plan. How do the systems traders here usually size up a genuine reclaim versus a slow grind back through the level that never really confirms?

I would define the reclaim with fixed conditions, not only visual judgement. For example, P5 must close back through the level by at least 0.1–0.2 ATR and form within maximum 2–3 bars after P4. A slow grind with overlapping candles and falling ATR can be marked as no-trade. Record both groups separately and compare MAE and MFE after at least 50 samples.
