Tonight's NFP — the biggest event of the week!
Mixed data this morning. 🇯🇵 Japan's Household Spending came in at -3.3% — forecast was +0.8%, which is a real big shock and a negative sign for the JPY. However, 🇨🇳 China's Trade Balance came in at 767B (forecast: 735B) and USD-Denominal Trade Balance at 112.5B (forecast: 108.6B) — both beat, which is positive for CNY and AUD.
4 big data coming together at 6:30 this evening. 🇺🇸 NFP (Non-Farm Payrolls) forecast 85K — was only 57K the previous month. Unemployment Rate forecast 4.2%. Average Hourly Earnings forecast 0.3%. Also 🇨🇦 CAD Employment Change forecast 17.8K and Unemployment Rate forecast 6.5%. If these data come together, there will be huge volatility in the USD and CAD pairs.
In short —CNY will be supported by strong Trade Data. Today's real game will be at 6:30 PM. If NFP comes above 85K, USD will pump, Gold will fall. If NFP comes below 85K, USD will weaken, Gold and EUR will rise.
