What I learned after running a trading robot on a verified Myfxbook account

After running a trading robot on multiple verified Myfxbook accounts, one thing became very clear to me:

Profit alone means nothing if risk is not controlled.

At the beginning, I focused too much on monthly returns. Over time, I realized that:

Drawdown management is more important than high profit %Consistency beats aggressive tradingA system must survive bad market conditions, not just good onesThis is why I only trust verified statistics, not screenshots or signals.

I’m still improving and testing My Robot every day, but Myfxbook verification helped me stay disciplined and realistic.

Curious to hear how others here evaluate trading systems — what do you look at first?

I agree with that. Profit numbers alone can be very misleading if you do not understand what kind of risk was taken to achieve them. I also pay much more attention to stability, drawdown behaviour and how a system performs during bad market phases. Good markets make almost everything look smart, but stress periods reveal whether a strategy is actually built to last.

Personally I focus a lot on consistency and repeatable setups. Over time I learned that steady execution of the same proven conditions tends to outperform aggressive trading or constantly changing strategies. Verified tracking is important as well because it forces transparency and removes the guesswork.

For me the first things I usually look at are long term consistency, how losses are handled, and whether the performance curve grows in a controlled way instead of sharp spikes. Systems that survive volatility and still maintain structure usually have a much better chance of lasting long term.

I fully agree with you. Stress periods are where strategies are truly tested, not during smooth market conditions. Almost any approach can look impressive when volatility is friendly, but risk behavior during drawdowns tells the real story.

Consistency and repeatability are also something I’ve come to value much more over time. When a system relies on the same conditions and execution logic, it becomes easier to evaluate, adjust, and trust — especially when tracked over a longer horizon.

I also like your point about controlled equity curves. Gradual growth with contained drawdowns is far more meaningful than sharp spikes that often hide excessive risk. In the end, survival and discipline are what allow any strategy to stay in the game long enough to matter.

Yeah, I am sure he daily adds History tab screenshots in his private Telegram from nice juicy demos, instead of doing it properly.

I usually look at max drawdown first. Profit looks good on paper, but if the drawdown is too high it’s not really sustainable. A system that can handle rough conditions is a lot more reliable long term.
