Execution and Withdrawal which you look more?
What do you guys usually look for when it comes to execution and withdrawals?
I’ve been comparing a few brokers recently, and I’m starting to realize that spreads aren’t the only thing that matters.
For execution, do you mainly look at slippage and order fill speed, or are there other things you pay attention to?
And when it comes to withdrawals, how important is processing time for you? Do you normally test a small withdrawal first before committing more funds?
Would be interested to hear how other traders approach this.
I’d look at execution consistency more than the headline spread. A broker can show tight spreads but still be expensive if you regularly get negative slippage, requotes or poor fills around volatile periods. And yeah, doing a small withdrawal early is a pretty sensible test before keeping serious money there
I look at execution and withdrawals as two separate parts of broker due diligence. For execution, I pay attention to more than just spread and fill speed. Slippage, rejected or requoted orders, spread widening during CPI/NFP or major news, and whether fills remain consistent during volatile sessions are all important. A broker can advertise tight spreads but still have poor real-world execution.
For withdrawals, processing time matters, but consistency and transparency matter even more. I’d rather see a broker that clearly explains its withdrawal process and consistently completes requests than one advertising extremely fast withdrawals without much history behind it.
Ultimately, I’m looking at the whole trading experience, not just the headline spread.
