Is the Introducing model broken? Or simply misunderstood?
Too many IBs simply send traders a referral link, earn from their trading activity and disappear when problems arise.
But I don’t believe the IB model itself is necessarily the problem. The real question is whether the IB provides genuine value.
A good IB should offer more than access to a broker. They should understand the broker they represent, disclose how they are compensated and provide a real escalation channel when clients experience onboarding, account or withdrawal problems.
For copy traders, money managers, mentors, forex schools and people with established trading communities, an IB partnership can create an additional income stream. However, recommending the wrong broker can destroy years of trust with an audience.
So what should matter more when choosing a broker partnership: the commission, trading conditions, regulation, client support or the IB’s ability to solve problems?
I work within the partnership side of the industry and would genuinely like to hear from people who have considered or already operate as IBs:
What would a broker need to offer for you to trust them with your community?
