*My EA System Thinks 24/7 So My Brain Doesn't Have To*

Someone asked for a system to avoid overtrading.

Here's mine:

A system that trades constantly.

Sounds crazy, right?

But here's what I learned:

Overtrading isn't about how many trades you take.

It's about how much of your mental energy each trade costs.

My EA takes hundreds of XAUUSD trades a week. Win rate ~60%+. Losing streaks happen. Winning streaks happen.

I don't care. I didn't take the trades. The machine did.

The result: After decades of executing trades manually, I no longer overtrade because I no longer trade. I build, I monitor, I refine. The system of self developed EA's stares at the screen so I don't have to.

The one question that changed everything for me: "What if your edge could run without you?"

Once I answered that, I stopped overtrading forever.

Your turn: If you could automate just one part of your trading today — entry, exit, or position sizing — which would it be? Answer below.

Employing an EA can definitely reduce overtrading, but it doesn’t remove the need for discipline. You’re just shifting the responsibility from execution to system design and risk control. If the logic isn’t solid, the EA will just overtrade faster and more consistently than you ever could. Automating entries or execution makes sense, but position sizing and risk rules should always be tightly controlled. The edge still comes from the strategy, not the fact that it’s automated.
