The habit I learned the last time - Trading Journal
Honest confession — I didn't keep a journal for my first two years, and it was my single biggest mistake
Back then I thought, "I remember everything in my head, why write it down?" Turned out, I was making the same mistakes over and over, and every single time it felt like a "new problem" — even though it had already happened three times before.
A trading journal isn't complicated. Just a few lines after every trade —
Why did you enter this trade? What was the actual plan? If it lost, was that a flaw in the strategy, or an emotional decision? And if it won, was it genuinely a good trade, or just a lucky shot?
Go back and read it a month later, and your patterns become obvious — when you make the most mistakes, which setups actually work for you, which emotion gets you into trouble the most.
No mentor or course can show you your own patterns as honestly as your own journal will.
Start today — a notebook, a simple spreadsheet, whatever works.
Do you keep a journal?
