London and New York overlap usually gives the cleanest movement, but the session alone is not the setup. The better habit is tracking when your own entries perform best and staying out when the market is active but still unclear

Trading during major sessions and overlaps usually works best. But if your time zone or work schedule doesn’t allow that, some smaller sessions like the Asian session,  Tokyo time can still offer decent volume, especially on JPY pairs. Even early Sydney session can move certain pairs. It really depends on what you’re trading.

There isn’t a single “best” time to trade forex for everyone. The best time really depends on liquidity, volatility, and the pairs you trade. Forex runs 24 hours a day, but the market is not equally active throughout that entire period. Some hours are quiet, and some are where the real action happens. Forex is a strange beast: the market sleeps with one eye open, and the biggest moves often happen when the world’s financial capitals wake up and start arguing with each other using money.

For traders focusing on USD and EUR pairs, the London - New York overlap is usually the most active and liquid. Tokyo hours tend to work better for JPY pairs and Sydney can offer decent movement for AUD pairs. It really depends on the instrument you’re trading. You also have to pay close attention to major news and data releases since timing around those events can completely change volatility.

Anyone here mainly trading the Sydney session for AUD pairs? I’m surprised it doesn’t get mentioned much even though it can move those pairs quite a bit.
