Citadel Master Pro Live Discussion
Welcome to the discussion page for Citadel Master Pro.
This is a fully automated Forex strategy running on cTrader, live since June 2024. It trades multiple pairs including NZDCAD, AUDCAD, GBPUSD, GBPCHF and others.
The system uses a grid-based approach with martingale elements. I know these techniques have a bad reputation, but when implemented with proper risk management and conservative settings, they can deliver consistent results - as the verified track record shows.😁 The key is controlling position sizing and having realistic expectations.

MT4/MT5 vs cTrader: A Key Difference You Should KnowHey everyone,
I wanted to share some thoughts on the differences between MetaTrader 4/5 and cTrader, particularly regarding a feature that doesn't get talked about enough: cloud hosting.
The Cloud Hosting GapOne of the most significant differences between these platforms is how they handle cloud-based trading:
cTrader offers free cloud hosting for your automated trading strategies (cBots) and technical indicators. This means your EAs can run 24/7 without needing a VPS or keeping your computer on constantly. It's built into the platform at no extra cost.
MT4/MT5, on the other hand, requires you to pay for their MQL5 VPS service if you want cloud hosting. While MetaQuotes does offer VPS hosting, it comes with a monthly subscription fee (though there are some conditions where you can get it free/discounted through certain brokers).
Why This MattersFor traders running automated strategies, this is a big deal:
No additional monthly VPS costs with cTraderEasy setup - no technical configuration neededReliable 24/7 execution without hardware dependencyLower barrier to entry for algo tradersOther Notable DifferencesBeyond cloud hosting, here are some other points worth considering:
Interface: cTrader has a more modern, intuitive UI compared to MT4/MT5Order execution: cTrader offers Level II pricing and true ECN executionProgramming: cTrader uses C# (cAlgo) vs MQL4/5 for automationMarket adoption: MT4/MT5 still has wider broker support and a larger communityBacktesting: cTrader's backtesting is generally considered more accurate and fasterFinal ThoughtsI'm not saying one platform is definitively better than the other - they each have their strengths. MT4/MT5 has the advantage of massive community support, thousands of indicators/EAs available, and nearly universal broker support.
However, if you're serious about automated trading and want to avoid ongoing VPS costs, cTrader's free cloud hosting is a compelling advantage that can save you money in the long run.
What's your experience? Are you using MT4/MT5 or cTrader, and what made you choose your platform?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
