New Zealand Building Consents Climb 5.8 Percent In August

(RTTNews) - The total number of building permits issued in New Zealand was up a seasonally adjusted 5.8 percent on month in August, Statistics New Zealand said on Wednesday - up from 5.3 percent in July.
In August, there were 3,080 new dwellings consented, including 1,492 stand-alone houses; 1,199 townhouses, flats, and units; 256 apartments; and 133 retirement village units.
In the year ended August 2025, the actual number of new dwellings consented was 34,078, up 1.3 percent from the year ended August 2024.
The annual value of non-residential building work consented was NZ$8.7 billion, down 5.4 percent from the year ended August 2024.
