South Korea Rate Decision On Tap For Thursday

(RTTNews) - The bank of Korea will wrap up its monetary policy meeting and then announce its decision on interest rates, highlighting a light day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. The BoK is expected to hike its benchmark lending rate by 25 basis points, to 3.00 percent from 2.75 percent.
Australia will see Q2 figures for private new capital expenditure, with forecasts suggesting an increase of 0.8 percent on quarter following the 6.5 percent gain in the previous three months.
Thailand is scheduled to release July data for imports, exports, trade balance and industrial production. In June, imports were up 50.3 percent and exports climbed 20.8 percent fora trade deficit of $6.53 billion. Industrial production was down 3.1 percent on year.
