Thai Manufacturing PMI Improves To 54.8 In September - S&P Global
(RTTNews) - The manufacturing sector in Thailand continued to expand in October, and at a faster pace, the latest survey from S&P Global revealed on Monday with a Performance of Manufacturing Index score of 54.8.
That was up from 54.3 in September and it moved further above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
In line with the headline index, manufacturing production expanded at the strongest pace since December 2025, driven by an improvement in demand. Growing customer bases and successful business promotion efforts reportedly led incoming new orders to rise at one of the strongest paces on record.
As a result of the sharp rise in new work inflows, the level of unfinished orders increased at the strongest pace in nearly a year. The accumulation of unfinished work was exacerbated by a reduction in workforce capacity, the latter often attributable to staff resignations. Meanwhile, stocks of finished goods were further depleted for the fulfilment of orders.
