U.S. Jobless Claims Unexpectedly Fall To Lowest Level Since 1969
First-time claims for U.S. unemployment benefits unexpectedly decreased in the week ended July 18th, according to a report released by the Labor Department on Thursday. The report said initial jobless claims fell to 187,000, a decrease of 22,000 from the previous week's revised level of 209,000. Economists had expected jobless claims to rise to 212,000.
