Thanks! I agree that the drawdown is the main factor to watch here, especially with such a high return over a short period. The current results are still part of the testing phase, so I’m not assuming that +457% is sustainable. For risk management, the focus is on controlling overall exposure, limiting the number of positions during unfavorable conditions, and monitoring drawdown closely. If the strategy enters a prolonged losing streak or market conditions change significantly, the priority would be to reduce exposure or stop trading rather than continue compounding through the drawdown.The...

Thanks for the feedback. I agree that the demo results are not enough to assume the same performance on a live account, so I’m treating the current results as a testing phase. The strategy is mainly based on price action and confirmation signals, with multiple entries when the setup aligns. Regarding the lack of SL, I’m using account-level risk management rather than placing a fixed SL on every individual trade. I monitor exposure and drawdown, and the idea is to have safeguards in place to handle unexpected spikes rather than relying solely on a traditional SL.That said, I agree that testin...

That’s always the biggest question with manual trading. 😄 The market doesn’t always follow the setup, so when conditions change or the analysis is wrong, I reduce exposure and reassess rather than blindly forcing trades. There will always be losing periods—the key is managing them properly and waiting for the market to come back into conditions that fit the strategy.

The growth is mainly driven by an aggressive strategy that looks for multiple opportunities when the market confirms the setup. The higher drawdown comes with that approach because the system is willing to stay exposed and manage positions through temporary adverse moves rather than cutting everything at the first pullback. The main focus is finding a balance between aggressive growth and keeping the risk under control.

Thank you for taking the time to actually go through the history that's a fair question and not many people ask it.The strategy is built on support and resistance. It identifies the levels that matter, waits for price to reach one, and then trades the reaction either a rejection back off the level, or a clean break and retest from the other side. Stops sit beyond the level with an ATR buffer rather than a fixed pip distance, so they adjust to how volatile gold is in that session. I'll keep the specific level-selection rules private for now, but that's the framework. On your question about mu...

Good question, and an honest one you're right that a demo curve only proves the logic runs, not that it makes money. That's exactly why it's up as a demo rather than dressed as anything else. I'm still working through the execution side, and when there's a live account it'll go up alongside this one so people can compare them properly. Appreciate you asking.

Is it realistically possible to achieve 10% daily returns with an EA through compounding? If yes, I’d love to understand how you would structure the strategy to achieve it consistently. What would be the key factors—risk per trade, leverage, number of entries, win rate, position sizing, or the compounding model?I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who has actually achieved or tested something close to 10% daily growth on a live account, rather than just in backtests. What would the setup look like, and what kind of drawdown would you consider acceptable?

Wow, this discussion really took off! A big thank you to everyone who has jumped in and shared their perspective. What started as a simple manual vs. EA question has turned into a much more interesting conversation about strategy, technology, psychology, adaptability, and what actually makes a trading system sustainable. And honestly, that’s exactly what makes a great trading community—different opinions, real experience, and people willing to challenge each other’s ideas. So let me throw one more question out there:If you had to choose just ONE factor that determines whether an EA survives l...

If EAs have only advantages over manual trading, would you say the main challenge today is no longer execution, but finding an EA with a genuine edge that can adapt to changing market conditions? And what do you think is the biggest reason most EAs fail in live trading despite looking good in backtests?

If using an EA automatically means you lack knowledge or fear technology, then by the same logic, using a calculator means you don't understand mathematics. The point isn't manual vs. automated. The point is whether the strategy has a genuine edge, survives different market conditions, and manages risk properly. Automation simply executes that edge without emotions, hesitation, or fatigue.

If an EA has been properly backtested and forward-tested for years, why manually trade at all?

Fair question. The subscription is there for anyone who wants to follow the signals during the demo phase rather than wait for a finished product. Some people would rather watch a system in real time as it develops than judge it off a screenshot after the fact, and that option is open to them. It's labelled Demo on the listing for exactly that reason — nobody's being told it's something it isn't.
