Before this cross connect, TradingFXVPS clients reached Databento over standard internet routing. Data requests left the facility, traversed multiple carrier networks, and returned. Every hop introduced both latency and variability.
A cross connect replaces that path with dedicated fiber inside the same building. Because TradingFXVPS servers and Databento infrastructure both sit within Equinix NY4 in Secaucus, New Jersey, the connection spans meters of fiber rather than miles of routed network. Traffic never touches the public internet, which eliminates ISP routing decisions, peering congestion, and interference from unrelated traffic on shared paths.
