Ophir Discussion
XAUUSD_sarah posted:kun6262 posted:Pelfox posted:Hi, @RockwellFX,Could you please take into account the slippage and latency, especially when you trade positions with big volume size?Today you opened a BUY position with a Volume 60, Entry Price 4554.58, Closing Price 4554.54, and made $57.60.For me, the position was copied with Volume 122, Entry Price 4557.26, Closing Price 4556.56, and -$240.75 as a result. It wiped out all my profit for this week. I assume others may experience the same issue. If we are getting less profit, you will get less commission...
My entry price was 4557.14.I checked the market record the highest price within that one minute was 4556.92, I wonder how is it possible for our trades to be executed at prices over 4556.92.Together with the incident yesterday, blowing up accounts and inaccessible of the system, what's happening is clear.
I see what you mean, an entry at 4557.14 when the 1-minute high was only 4556.92 looks off. That shouldn’t happen. Could you drop the exact timestamp of your trade? I’ll get the tick data checked right away. Sorry about the hit to your profits, man. We’ll look into this and yesterday’s issues properly. Thanks,

I've been through this too, hope you guys didn't lose too much.
Just don't trust martingale strategies with no stop losses ever again. Go with single entry strategies with TP and SL for every trade.
What happened, he blew up accounts? If that is the case, too bad.
I have been trading over 20 years and working with firms have thought me a lot.
Trade and don't be greedy, I make little some days, and make more some other days. Just be patient. And martingale traders are no no for me. Before I got my trading license, I have to meet a certain conditions for a full on year.

He already made his money 100x ... he doesnt care to blew 12millions that is not his.
What i think its that this is arranged between him and brokers. Several we couldnt have access to the ctrader
You loss money too?

I actually lost 1600 USD. I had been following it for a long time, but it didn't open on cTrader. (If I wrote to cTrader, they would deny it, so I didn't.) Yesterday, they also crashed the copy called Ophir New, and today they're making a fuss because Ophir Turbo rose by 8%.
Get Mt5 and get better trades, sorry for your loss tho

You got hit too? But why will you guys copy from martingale trader? I'm my 20 years plus of trading, I tell people to avoid martingale

I have been trading also for over 20 years and I think a lot of people don't understand what's martingale and grid. I remember when Etoro was ahype and everybody was copying. Accounts were getting blown on daily basis. People want to be rich in no time.
Anyway people accept your loss and move on. There is a way, you copy on demo account and you copy trade from demo to your real account with real through a copier.
My recommendation: DO NOT COPY PEOPLE
Ahzhan posted:I feel sorry for those still copying him. Last friday he almost blew again lmao
The main reason is this guy only left a bot working for hours without watching it. The description 30% bot and 70% manual it's a big lie. You can't simply be stupid enough to do the same negative movement and allow them to go negative, negative and more negative. I noticed that once when he left the price went into -$100 then the price recovered gaining $50 but he never closed it then went back again negative and recovered it again gaining $20 and finally back again negative closing it with -$80, there isn't sense on that unless the price doesn't touch the TP. I tried to contacted him to change that situation before or allowed me to watch the movements and stopped them if it's necessary, but he never replied back because he doesn't care other's money. His bot works that's a fact, but remember this idiom "It works until it doesn't". My mistake was trust this guy because I was developing my own strategy and it was almost done, so I thought my money is increasing while I'm developing this strategy now I'm so regret of that.
Dear all,
I am a victim of Ophir Copy trading. I am 49 years old this year. I was retrenched by my company since 2025 October. I took my retrenchment payout and open a brokerage account. i started trading on my own initially. From March 2026 i copy traded - Ophir. There were good days and bad days but overall was slight profitable. I am not a greedy trader. All i wanted was to copy trade, paid 30% commission to him and earning $100 usd a day on average to tide over my circumstances.
On 11 May 2026 - i believe he took a intentional risky trade to crash the account. On a bull market evening at around 7pm Asia time, he sold gold xauusd, almost 0.01 lot and accumulating martingale over 30+ positions ( all shorting a massive bull trend) . Even though I set my account stop loss at 60% ( 3x more than his recommended of 20%).
My account got cut out. I lost USD$32,000 in a single night.
I am jobless, my wife is not working. I had schooling kids.. I could not slept well, having panic attacks and waking up in the middle of the night.
He apologized on his telegram and recreated another account. I thought perhaps it was just foul luck at my end.
Today 5 june - as per another user had said earlier , he made another intentional trade that resulted us losing huge money. He executed a single trade that is 100 times bigger than his usual trading lot size . It was a win for him but i believe many of us lost money due to latency as it was a bear market ( and the trade was buying gold)
I lost USD $600+ today wiping out all my earnings over last 2 weeks.
I believe in karma .. and he will get what he duly deserve .. one way or another , be it illness or accidents. he will pay back for all the harm he had caused to folks like us, who paid him commissions over all the months, but crashing and losing our life savings

People say once bitten twice shy...
Dear all,
If you think having losses is due to market conditions or luck , there are some observations that i had which made me to believe the crash was intentionally arranged for every copy trader that follows Ophir to lose money and profiting the people that had this pre-arranged with him.
a. The equity stop loss that does not work. Many of us had set 20, 30 ,50% on our ctrader equity stop loss. It does not work at all. Many of us here crashed out on 11 May 2026 (which Ophir closed his account and now reopen another named Ophir CT)
b. When the crash was happening, almost everyone cannot load the Ctrader copy strategy page. It went into an endless webpage loading loop. You are unable to stop copying and take losses at all. We have no manual intervention.
c. There were many suspicious activities prior to that, for example : he took multiple positions (over 10-20) and attempting a grid style mean reversion betting against the trend , and yet, when some of the positions were profitable, he does not close them to reduce losses/ margins.
d. There were many instance of super large positions(today 5th june was 100x) trade being executed and closed within seconds , which resulted in many small account getting caught and suffered major losses.
I do not believe this account is legit and here to help novice traders to earn a little whilst we pay him 30% commission. There is something fishy and pre-arrangement ongoing to regularly crash the accounts and reap the investors who copied. At this point in time there are 1469 who are still copying him live.. good luck as it will be a matter of time you will get "exited" from the pre-arranged crashes

Honestly it was not purely greed for wanting to copying trading. All i wanted is to tide through the difficult times and provide for my family putting food on table, paying bills and a mountain of mortgage loans and kids schooling fees. . i tried to trade on my own , my win rate is 50-60% and out of fear, i always only made less than 10-20 bucks after many hours of staring at the screen. Many of you would be saying , why don't you just get a job ? i did. i sent out almost 1000s of job application via linkedin, indeed, every job site, but at a certain age, getting a perm job after being retrenched ( negative bias) against you is really really tough. I invested on copy trader and paid 30% commission. In my view, i always thought it is a win-win arrangement, i'm happy to split whatever profits i made by taking the 70% share. On an average day , i made $50 to $80 from copy trading profits , it wasn't enough to sustain a family lifestyle but it at least allow me to sleep a little at night. I was satisfied with a mere $50 daily . You wouldn't understand the financial burden that wakes you up at 4am and thinking about the upcoming bills that is to come until you are in the situation yourself. I understand every investment has risks, i am perfectly fine with making $50 from copy trader today and if tomorrow market was wild, losing $50 . That is perfectly acceptable. I believe those traders that lost money with Ophir are not sore losers. But losing hundreds in 2 secs , and 60% of account ( for me $30,000+ ) within an hour of trading itself is unacceptable . Its morally wrong to be providing copy trading to anyone with such practices. Beside from bad faith and intentional risk / potential fraud, i really cannot think of any reasons what this will be happening
