On the other hand, the BOJ has been following its yield curve control(ycc) policy and distorting the Japanese bond market. Investors have already realized that the central bank will eventually abandon the ycc policy in order to stop the continuous bleeding of the yen versus the dollar and the other currencies. But I think that around November a risk-off sentiment will drive the markets even lower and maybe investors rush to pile in on safe assets such as the CHF, or the JPY, thus strengthening the yen until some months later we see the ultimate loosening of monetary policy from BOJ and the destruction of the yen.

Although the euro is under immense pressure as we enter another recession in the euro area, I believe that the euro will finally gain some ground against other currencies and especially the yen before it slumps even lower in Q1 2023. I do not think that inflation in the euro area has peaked yet, and that is why the ECB will hike more aggressively in September(a 100 bps hike is still very probable ).
