Bitcoin Price Prediction: Can Institutional Demand Push BTC Towards $90K?

BTC rises 12% over 7 days & 44% across this quarter; BTC ETFs record almost $1bn in net inflows on Monday; Strategy confirms 950 BTC purchase; Oil and Treasury yields fall with diplomatic hopes rising; BTC technical analysis

After surging 6% on Monday to a fresh eight-month high of $87K, Bitcoin bulls appear to be pausing for breath. Strong institutional demand and corporate purchases have helped support the price, alongside falling oil prices and Treasury yields in recent days.

The largest cryptocurrency is up 1.3% over the past 24 hours and almost 12% over the past seven days. Bitcoin is up 44% so far this quarter, outperforming every major asset.

Bitcoin ETF inflows reach almost $1bn as Strategy buys 950 BTC

Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net inflows of $998.95 million on Monday, the largest daily inflow since Bitcoin hit a record high of roughly $126.2K on October 6, 2025.

Monday’s inflows were also among the largest since ETFs began trading in January 2024 and marked the first three-day streak of gains in two weeks.

The pace at which spot ETFs are attracting money is similar to that seen when Bitcoin was trading near record highs, suggesting institutional confidence remains strong despite the Senate failing to progress the Clarity Act and despite the Fed’s 25-basis-point rate hike last week.

This brings month-to-date inflows to around $1.3 billion, following August’s $3.52 billion in net inflows. Institutional demand therefore remains strong despite the wider macroeconomic backdrop and amid growing concerns over fiscal debt across developed economies.

Strategy disclosed that it bought another 950 Bitcoin for $75.7 million between September 14 and 20. This takes its total Bitcoin holdings to 846,000 coins, close to its record of 847,363.

The purchase helped spur confidence in MSTR’s Bitcoin accumulation strategy, particularly given that it had sold some of its holdings earlier this year.

Oil and yields fall with eyes on US-Iran talks

Oil prices have fallen sharply in recent sessions, with Brent dropping below $100 and WTI below $95 as hopes of renewed diplomatic engagement between the US and Iran increase and Saudi Arabia restores some disrupted crude shipments.

Falling oil prices are helping to ease inflation concerns, pushing Treasury yields lower. Lower yields reduce the opportunity cost of holding riskier assets and can support demand for equities and cryptocurrencies.

The market will be watching to see whether US-Iran talks emerge ahead of the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week. Any indication that the two sides are moving towards negotiations could pull oil prices and Treasury yields lower, providing another potential boost to BTC.

Bitcoin technical analysis

After surging 6% in the previous session and reaching $87.3K, Bitcoin has eased slightly to $86K at the time of writing. The outlook remains constructive, with the price trading above its 50 and 200 EMAs as well as above the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement of the move from the $126.1K high $57.7K low.

The RSI is in overbought territory, so some consolidation or a move lower could be on the cards before the next leg higher.

On the upside, resistance is at the 50% Fibonacci retracement around $92K, followed by the 61.8% level around $100K.

On the downside, immediate support is seen at $80K, the upper band of the previous range. Below this, attention turns towards $74K, around the 23.6% Fibonacci level, followed by the 50 and 200 EMAs. A break below this area would weaken the current bullish setup and could see sellers gain traction.
