Hola Prime

Perusahaan Prop Trading

This was my first time trying a prop firm challenge with futures, and the experience went well with Hola Prime. The customer support team is also very helpful and responded quickly whenever I had questions.
How to set personal limits correctly

I used to set limits based on what I wanted to make, not what I could afford to lose. Switching focus to capital protection changed everything.
Becoming a Profitable trader either By Manually or Automated

Mastering a strategy is important, but mastering boredom is underrated. Most of my bad trades came from wanting action, not from lacking knowledge.
What’s the toughest challenge you’ve overcome in trading?
in
General
Feb 21 at 08:10
My biggest challenge was overtrading. I used to feel like I had to be in the market all the time. That mindset drained my account. It taught me that waiting is part of the job. Trading less but only taking high quality setups made a big difference.
Why Most New Traders Fail (It’s Not the Strategy)
in
New Traders
Feb 21 at 08:06
True. Most blow ups happen when people start trading bigger or changing rules mid trade. Keeping it simple and trading smaller fixes more than a new strategy. For example, if you normally risk $10 on a trade, don’t jump to $50 after a loss. Take the next trade the same size and only if it matches your plan.
Is Forex Trading More Like Gambling or a Skill-Based Game?
in
General
Feb 21 at 07:55
It depends on how you approach it. If you overleverage, chase moves, and trade without testing, it is close to gambling. If you follow a structured plan with defined risk and proven setups, it becomes skill based over time. Broker regulation does not guarantee profits, but it protects you from avoidable risks like poor execution or withdrawal problems.
What Causes Most Trading Account Failures?
in

Leverage plus emotion is the fastest account killer. Even with a real edge, one overleveraged day around volatility can wipe weeks. If you keep risk small and consistent, psychology gets quieter and the edge actually has time to play out.
Why Consistency Is Harder Than Profitability in Trading
in
General
Feb 19 at 12:34
Mostly psychology, but it usually shows up as risk drift. You’re not changing the strategy, you’re changing the risk and rules when you’re bored, tilted, or feeling invincible. What helped me was fixing size and having clear no trade rules because it makes discipline way easier to actually follow.
Consistent High-Yield Trading Strategy for High-Value Accounts
in

Feb 19 at 12:18
If your results are consistent, one practical route is prop firm challenges. It lets you access funded capital without needing to pitch private investors right away. That said, most serious capital allocators care more about drawdown control and longevity than single 10% days. If the risk profile is tight and stable, funding conversations become much easier.
What’s the biggest mistake you made early in trading, and how did you fix it?
in
General
Feb 19 at 12:04
My biggest mistake was thinking good days meant I had figured it out. I’d increase size too quickly and give it back in one bad session. The real lesson wasn’t strategy, it was respecting variance and keeping risk consistent no matter how confident I felt.
How do you manage risk during high-impact news events in forex trading?
in
New Traders
Feb 16 at 09:25
High impact news is less about prediction and more about managing variance. Spreads widen, slippage increases, and stop losses can become theoretical rather than practical. For most traders, reducing size or staying flat is statistically more consistent than trying to capture the first spike. If I trade around news, I prefer waiting for the initial move to settle and then assess structure. Pending orders before release often get filled at unfavorable prices due to slippage.
What are your go-to indicators for swing trading in the current market?
in
Experienced Traders
Feb 16 at 09:13
I tend to keep it minimal. Moving average for trend context and RSI mainly to spot extreme conditions, not signals by itself. The bigger factor is volatility regime. An indicator that works in expansion fails in compression. So I focus more on market environment.
My thoughts on the recent crypto crash.
in
Kripto
Feb 16 at 08:29
I’m not trading crypto at the moment, but structurally speaking, exchange backed support programs are more of a PR and retention tool than a true safety net. In highly leveraged environments, liquidation risk is built into the product design. A $5M support fund sounds significant, but relative to billions in liquidations, it’s symbolic.
Consistency builds wins
in
New Traders
Feb 11 at 09:31
I used to chase days where I could post a clean win, and it messed with my decision making. Once I focused on doing the same things every session and accepting boring weeks, the curve started smoothing out. When you say “process,” what are you tracking the most, entries, exits, or risk?
Why isn't there anyone talking about trading psychology?
in
New Traders
Feb 11 at 08:35
A technical reason psychology matters is because trading is basically probability and variance. Even with an edge you can hit a losing streak, and if your risk is too high you get forced to quit right before the edge plays out. So psychology is tied to math, position sizing, and how you handle drawdown. A smaller risk per trade makes “psychology” way easier because the emotions stop being so loud.
What is the most successful scalping strategy?
in
New Traders
Feb 09 at 06:18
I think the problem isn’t scalping itself, it’s how beginners approach it. I used to jump into 1-minute charts with zero structure and wondered why commissions ate me alive. Scalping isn’t about speed, it’s about precision, and most people skip that part.
where did you learn about the forex basics ?

Feb 09 at 06:00
For me, understanding came slowly after applying small ideas repeatedly, not from stacking resources. The material helps, but screen time and repetition matter more than people admit.
Negative equity

How much leverage were you using, and why are you trading with a broker that doesn’t offer negative balance protection?
